Network Engineer

Good afternoon. I am currently representing Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3 months with the view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

• Supports the Network Services Manager to ensure that the network infrastructure and related components deliver the intended services to users at their designed optimum level.
• Investigates and diagnoses complex network, security, and telephony problems, working with customers, other staff, and suppliers as appropriate; resolves such problems in cooperation with the Technical Support team to maintain overall network performance and availability.
• Uses network management systems software and appropriate analysis tools to collect network load statistics, model performance, and create reports including proposals for improvement.
• Creates ad‑hoc network models and performs complex statistical analysis for management review.
• Performs tasks associated with the planning, design, installation, upgrade, operation, control, and maintenance of local and wide area networks for communication of critical data, voice, and video, using standard procedures and tools.
• Participates in the IT Service Desk to provide second‑ and third‑line support for customer faults and requests, communicating with third‑party suppliers where necessary.
• Manages the escalation of incidents appropriately to deliver the highest possible level of customer service and operational performance of Trust IT systems and services.

• Extensive experience working in large network environments.
• Experience providing an out‑of‑hours support service to meet business needs.
• Ability to manage own project deliverables.
