The Company

A well established and progressive farming enterprise with multiple sites in Norfolk is looking for a skilled arable operator to join their team. The business manages a diverse mix of arable land, woodland, grazing and marshland, with a strong focus on high quality crop production and sustainable land management. Modern machinery, investment in storage and irrigation infrastructure, and a commitment to best practice underpin everything they do.

What

You Will Be Doing

You will support year round arable operations across several blocks of land, working closely with the farm management team. This is a hands on role with seasonal peaks and a strong focus on attention to detail. Key duties include:

  • Cultivation, drilling, fertiliser applications and cover-crop management
  • Harvest operations: combining, carting and trailer work
  • Monitoring and managing grain and potato stores
  • Supporting crop protection and stewardship schemes, including accurate record-keeping
  • Setting up and maintaining irrigation equipment
  • General estate work: hedges, fencing, gateways, tracks and drainage
  • Machinery care: daily checks, routine maintenance and basic repairs
  • Telehandler/forklift operations and occasional local deliveries
  • Administration tasks such as job sheets, timesheets and field records
What You Need
  • Proven experience operating a range of agricultural machinery (tractors, drills, cultivators, sprayers, combines, telehandlers)
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to health and safety
  • Ability to carry out basic machinery maintenance and diagnostics
  • Reliability, organisation and a professional, discreet approach
  • Flexibility to work varying hours during busy periods
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
  • Full UK driving licence (trailer entitlement an advantage)

Certificates/Tickets (or willingness to train):

  • Telehandler and counterbalance forklift
  • PA1 & PA2 (spraying)
  • Basic first aid

Additional qualifications such as PA4/PA6, FACTS/BASIS, abrasive wheels or B+E trailer entitlement are desirable but not essential.

What Is In It For You
  • Competitive salary dependent on experience
  • Pension and holiday entitlement
  • Modern, well-maintained machinery and equipment
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Supportive, safety driven working environment
