Shift Supervisor
Are you a confident leader with a passion for safety, people development, and operational excellence? Our client are recruiting for a Shift Supervisor on behalf of one of our chemical manufacturing clients.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a frontline leadership role in a business known for its technical expertise, strong values, and decades-long industry presence.
The Opportunity
As a Shift Supervisor, you’ll lead a team of up to 15 operators on a 12-hour rotating shift (days and nights). You'll be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production processes. Working closely with other shift supervisors and cross-functional teams, you’ll help maintain high standards across operations and support continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of production operators
* Set clear expectations around safety, quality, and performance
* Promote a culture of engagement, accountability, and teamwork
* Act as Site Main Controller during site incidents
* Coordinate safe systems of work and oversee plant safety protocols
* Troubleshoot issues and support efficient plant operations
* Collaborate with Engineering, QHSE, HR, Logistics and Commercial teams
* Contribute to site-wide operational and performance initiatives
What You’ll Bring
* Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing or process environment
* Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
* Familiarity with health and safety systems, including Safe Systems of Work
* Comfortable working both on the plant floor and in the control room
* Minimum of GCSE Grade 9-4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
Desirable:
* Experience in chemical manufacturing or a COMAH-regulated site
* ILM qualification or similar leadership training
* Background in emergency response or incident control
The Package
* Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience
