Job Overview
Taverham Veterinary Hospital is looking for a full-time receptionist to join our superstar reception team. Along with outstanding receptionist duties, the role may also involve shop‑floor support, focusing on delivering an excellent customer experience and maintaining the gold standard service we consistently strive for. This position will cover maternity leave for approximately 9 months.
Duties- Greeting and assisting clients
- Managing appointment scheduling
- Maintaining accurate records using our computer systems
- Handling client enquiries both in person and over the phone
- Taking payments
At Taverham Vets, we’re a close‑knit team committed to exceptional pet care. With our hospital branch in Taverham and a third branch practice in Aylsham, we’re a leading veterinary team in the region. We have a large team of 34 Veterinary Surgeons, 41 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 5 Student Veterinary Nurses, 9 Animal Nursing Assistants, and 30+ Support Staff. Many of our vets and nurses hold additional qualifications across multiple disciplines.
We’re also passionate about giving back! We proudly support Street Vet Norwich, helping pets of those experiencing homelessness, and work closely with Dogs Trust, performing hydrotherapy for their residents. Our team regularly fund raises, with our latest charity event raising over £2,000.
We are looking for candidates with proven reception knowledge, computer literacy, and experience providing excellent care who enjoy working in a busy environment to join our team.
Working PatternYou will work 33.63 hours per week on a rota basis:
Monday 8:30 am–5 pm, Tuesday off, Wednesday 10 am–6:30 pm, Thursday 8:30 am–5 pm, with one in four Fridays (11:30 am–8 pm), Saturdays (8:30 am–2 pm) and Sundays (8:30 am–6:30 pm), plus two Bank Holidays per year.
