We are looking for enthusiastic, welcoming and customer‑focused people to join our Customer Services Team at the University of Nottingham Libraries. As the first point of contact you will provide a warm welcome and a great customer experience both in person and virtually. You will support students, academic staff, and visitors with queries and facilitate familiarisation with our services during key times of the year, such as induction.
Responsibilities- Provide a welcoming first point of contact for all patrons.
- Respond to a broad range of queries and requests using library systems, IT, printers and AV equipment.
- Assist students and staff during induction and other events.
- Work independently and as part of a team, managing unpredictable situations with confidence.
- Adapt quickly to new processes and technologies.
- Share knowledge and provide guidance to promote effective library use.
- Relevant experience in a customer‑focused environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Comfortable with technology and rapid learning of new systems.
- Commitment to inclusive service and support for a multicultural community.

Hours
Adopt the timetable that matches the selected post; applicants must be able to work all advertised hours. Training may occur outside of regular hours and may include emergency evacuation training.
