About The Role A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Fellow to join the Power Electronics, Machines and Drives Research Institute (PEMC) at the University of Nottingham and become a core member of a team researching power electronic converter design, control, construction and testing of power electronic converters in high power applications. The role will be responsible for generating new intellectual understanding/knowledge through the application of knowledge and for developing ideas for application of research outcomes.

About The Team The PEMC institute has grown exponentially and now has over 200 members, 24 academics and circa 130 PhD students, researchers, and engineers. The group offers state‑of‑the‑art facilities spanning 3500 m², capable of handling up to 5 MW for construction and testing. Our team is world leading in advanced electrical machines design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing.

About You We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Research Fellow to drive forward and support the aligned research work didates must have significant prior research experience in insulation systems and previous experience within collaborative projects involving multiple industry partners. The ability to work in a team, lead both internally and externally, and interact & collaborate actively and professionally with industrial partners is essential.

Prior direct experience of successful PhD student supervision is essential. The role reports to Prof Chris Gerada and will work with academics, researchers and PhD students to manage and conduct research activities across the programme.
