The Role
The University of Nottingham invites applications for a full-time technical position in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering (CEE). The role provides specialist technical support to the teaching and research laboratories of the Department.
Responsibility includes maintenance of laboratories and equipment, management of laboratory health and safety, liaising with colleagues on the design and content of new laboratory experiments, and providing teaching support. The role has significant manual handling involved, including taking delivery of gas cylinders and transportation of chemicals and equipment.
About The TeamThe technician will join a team of highly skilled technical staff to help supervise and maintain laboratories within the department and ensure core infrastructure is maintained.
About YouA positive, proactive individual with a flexible approach, able to work with minimal supervision, develop novel solutions to problems, and engage in new opportunities and challenges as required. Applicants must have experience working in a chemistry or chemical engineering laboratory environment, learn new techniques, and communicate knowledge of theory and practice to others. Possession of a health and safety qualification is an advantage, while strong general technical and problem‑solving skills are essential.
