Senior Civil Engineer

My client is looking for a motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join their multi-disciplinary team in Nottingham.

Lead and manage civil engineering projects, from feasibility and design through to construction, for a variety of sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, schools and care‑home developments.

Work closely with clients, architects, contractors, and local authorities to develop safe, cost‑effective, compliant and sustainable engineering solutions.

Provide technical oversight, produce detailed designs and drawings, coordinate infrastructure, drainage, highway and site‑services design where required.

Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians, contributing to the growth and development of the team.

Ensure projects meet statutory requirements, industry standards, and best‑practice guidance.

Significant experience in civil or structural engineering consultancy, ideally with experience across a range of project types (residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure).

Strong technical competence, excellent numeracy and IT skills, and familiarity with relevant UK design standards / regulations.

Excellent communication, team working and stakeholder‑management skills, able to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, local authorities and internal colleagues.

A flexible, solutions‑oriented mindset, with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines and budgets.

Leadership or mentoring experience, comfortable supervising and supporting more junior staff.
