We are looking for a Retail Finance (Banking) Officer to join our Retail Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Banking Officer you will be accountable for the accurate operation of retail bank accounts through reconciliation. You will be responsible for carrying out the day-to‑day duties of the Cash Management team and supporting operational business units.
Key Responsibilities- Complete weekly and monthly cash and bank balance sheet reconciliations accurately and on a timely basis.
- Ensure reconciling items are identified and actioned promptly. Highlight risks and opportunities to the Senior Banking Officer (SBO).
- Provide assistance with reconciliations as required or requested by the SBO.
- Manage daily operational issues including communication and resolution with external third parties.
- Aid various managers with the identification, communication and resolution of issues.
- Support the security and audit department as needed.
- Execute the following processes escalating issues to the SBO:
- Payment and cashbook processing.
- Liaison with authorise rs to ensure timely completion of payments across the business.
- Completion of the daily cash calculation.
- Attend meetings upon SBO request providing feedback and updates on relevant documentation.
- Provide telephone support to Retail estate address various day‑to‑day operational issues including shop encashments, cash differences and customer queries.
- Perform other tasks as required by the Senior Banking Officer.
- Support the STS daily workload as required.
Essential
- Reconciliation experience including high‑volume or automated reconciliations.
- AAT Qualified or working towards (or equivalent).
- Experience with accounting and banking terminology.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Practical systems and IT skills including Microsoft Excel.
Desirable
- Cash management experience.
- Experience using automated reconciliation software.
