Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesThe successful candidate must be highly motivated, a team player and have a desire to provide safe and effective medicines to patients in an acute hospital setting. You will be required to final check and release aseptically prepared medicines prepared in accordance with standard operating procedures.
You will have a range of post registration experience in hospital pharmacy which will ideally include experience within a production environment.

Person specification Training and Qualifications Essential criteria- B.Pharm /Bsc (Pharmacy) / MPharm
- Current GPhC registration
- Working towards or completed post graduate qualification to at least diploma yderole or equivalent experience
- Further training in GMP/pharmaceutical production
- Evidence of mangement experience
- Evidience of further education e.g. Pharmaceutical Technology and / or Quality Assurance
- Post registration hospital experience
- Experience of technical support services
- Knowledge of and understanding of formulation, preparation and administration of manufactured products
- Current familiarity with MHRA standards and other regulatory authority
- Knowledge and understanding of professional and statutory requirements relating to medicines and production, NHS structure, Code of Ethics for pharmacists
- Evidence of research or project work
- Experience of risk management & risk reduction strategies
- Experience of service development
- Mentoring of Pharmacy staff/students
- Able to assess and minimise risk in production processes
- Able to apply specialist technical knowledge
- Ability to work alone and make decisions
- Problem solving skills
- Evidence of incorporating innovative and "best practice" into current practice
- Provides direction grem feedback and creates a climate of respect
Planning organisational skills Essential criteria
- Excellent organisational skills – able to prioritise
