Senior Observability Engineer – Capital One

Location:

Nottingham Trent House, Nottingham, United Kingdom.

This role is part of the team responsible for the monitoring of Capital One UK's systems and applications.

• Support delivery teams as they onboard new applications onto Capital One UK's monitoring tools, providing guidance and ensuring monitoring and logging setup meets Capital One standards.
• Partner with engineers across the enterprise to improve monitoring platform capabilities.
• Provide platform support for monitoring tools across SAAS and AWS.
• Leverage AI to increase scope of monitoring and alerting.
• Support internally written solutions that extend monitoring capabilities, e.g., collecting logs from AWS Lambda functions.
• Engage in project engineering work to deliver new monitoring capabilities.
• Provide support and mentoring for more junior monitoring engineers.

• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Logz.io, Open Telemetry (OTEL), New Relic, Observe.
• Basic knowledge of Amazon Web Services, Linux and Windows servers.

• Flexible hybrid working model: 3 days a week in office (Tues–Thu) with remote flexibility.
