Fractional CTO AI-Driven Automated Workflows & HR Document Verification

We are working with a start-up organization involved with utilizing AI Automation to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across people operations. They are seeking a Fractional Chief Technology Officer to provide both strategic leadership and practical involvement in the design and delivery of AI-enabled automated workflows, with particular focus on HR document verification and compliance‑critical processes.

This role suits a senior technology leader who is comfortable shaping direction at executive level while also contributing directly to the build and evolution of systems or applications where appropriate.

• Define and lead the technical strategy for AI-powered workflow automation across HR functions
• Design and oversee document verification systems (e.g. identity, right-to-work, credential and compliance checks)
• Participate in the hands‑on design and build of systems or applications, especially in early or critical phases
• Translate business, operational, and regulatory requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions
• Advise on architecture, tooling, and vendor selection with a focus on long‑term sustainability
• Ensure appropriate standards for security, privacy, and governance are embedded from the outset

• Experience as a CTO, Fractional CTO, or senior technology leader in applied delivery environments
• Demonstrated involvement in building and scaling AI-enabled systems or automated workflows
• Strong understanding of HR platforms, document verification processes, and compliance requirements
• Ability to balance hands‑on contribution with strategic oversight
• Sound judgement around data protection, risk, and system integrity
