Head of Quality and Improvement

Permanent, Full Time

Location: National - Ideally based in the South East or Central England (Milton Keynes, Bracknell, Gloucester / Worcester corridor, Watford).

The Head of Quality and Improvement will lead the development and deployment of quality and improvement strategies, plans and initiatives across Ringway. This role is responsible for supporting process development such that they meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of excellence, improvement, optimisation and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive quality and continuous improvement across Ringway business units, focusing on incremental process improvements and innovation.
  • Develop and implement lean processes aligned with the four pillars strategy, including optimisation and efficiency initiatives.
  • Analyse operational data and use insights to identify improvement opportunities (e.g., reactive vs planned works, gully cleansing, pothole management).
  • Collaborate with business units to implement changes that enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve service delivery.
  • Support development of Power BI dashboards to track performance themes and KPIs.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels - from operatives to director - to influence and embed best practices.
  • Promote a culture of quality and efficiency, challenging traditional methods where appropriate.
  • Work closely with Quality Managers and operational teams to ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
  • Attend monthly meetings at Watford and other central locations; represent the optimisation pillar in strategic discussions.
Person Specification
  • Strong process improvement and quality management experience.
  • Ability to analyse data and translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience implementing lean methodologies and driving cultural change.
  • Comfortable influencing across all levels of the organisation.
  • Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or Manufacturing (preferred but not essential).
  • Appreciation of lean principles and quality processes.
