OverviewHM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family courts in England and Wales. This role supports HMCTS service users and colleagues to deliver life‑changing justice, meeting operational needs and cluster performance objectives while providing a consistent and customer‑focused service at Nottingham Crown Court.
About the RoleYou will lead a team to ensure the smooth running of Nottingham Crown Court, supporting the Operations Manager and driving continuous improvement. Key duties include maintaining positive relationships with the judiciary, support agencies, voluntary and user groups, managing complaints and corrective actions, and ensuring Health & Safety, IT/Workstation compliance and escalation of court facility issues to HMCTS Estates.
Responsibilities- Lead, motivate and develop a high‑performing team, setting local priorities aligned to national/regional strategies.
- Deliver operational objectives, maintain performance against targets, and manage the team’s budget and resourcing.
- Foster positive relationships with the judiciary, support agencies and voluntary groups to improve service levels.
- Handle complaints, implement corrective actions within established timescales and report on trends.
- Ensure Health & Safety, IT/Workstation compliance and raise court facility issues to HMCTS Estates.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Hands‑on problem solver with strong people skills and the ability to engage at all levels.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and diplomatic approach to work.
- Experienced in leading teams and setting objectives to meet business plans.
- Keen on providing excellent customer service and driving employee engagement.
- Capable of resource and budget management and identifying cost‑effective solutions.
