Nigel Wright Group are currently recruiting for an experienced 3-6 month Interim Risk & Compliance Manager to take ownership of the organisation’s risk and compliance agenda. This role can be done on a remote basis, attending the office once a quarter, and will focus on developing and embedding the risk management framework and internal controls, ensuring the organisation remains compliant with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, and strengthening business continuity and assurance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and embed the organisation’s risk management framework, ensuring it is practical, proportionate, and aligned to strategic objectives
  • Review, enhance, and maintain the internal control framework, ensuring controls are effective and clearly documented
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative developments, assessing impact and implementing changes where required
  • Ensure all business activities comply with the relevant legislative and regulatory framework
  • Take full ownership of the breaches register, ensuring issues are logged, investigated, escalated, and resolved appropriately
  • Oversee and strengthen the organisation’s compliance framework, ensuring compliance issues are identified, tracked, and remediated
  • Develop, test, and enhance the organisation’s business continuity and resilience plans, including scenario testing and lessons learned
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are maintained, reviewed, and developed in line with regulatory and operational requirements
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the group to advise and challenge on all matters relating to risk and compliance
  • Provide clear, concise risk and compliance reporting to senior leadership and governance forums
  • Promote a strong risk-aware and compliant culture across the organisation
Skills & Experience
  • Ideally immediately available with proven experience in a Risk & Compliance leadership role
  • Strong track record of developing and embedding risk management frameworks and internal controls
  • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance, governance, and legislative requirements
  • Experience managing breaches, incidents, and regulatory issues
  • Knowledge of business continuity planning and testing
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders
  • Pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with the ability to operate independently
