**** What you’ll do
**** This role is part of the team responsible for the monitoring of Capital One UK’s systems and applications.
** The role’s main functions:
*** Supporting the engineers in our delivery teams as they onboard new applications onto Capital One UK’s monitoring tools. This will involve providing them with help and guidance, whilst ensuring that the monitoring and logging is set up in accordance with Capital One’s standards.
* Partnering with engineers across the enterprise to improve monitoring platform capabilities
* Platform support for monitoring tools across SAAS and AWS.
* Leveraging AI to increase scope of monitoring and alerting
* Supporting a number of internally written solutions that extend our monitoring capabilities - for example collecting logs from AWS Lambda functions.
* Project engineering work to deliver new monitoring capabilities.
* Providing support and mentoring for more junior monitoring engineers.
** What we’re looking for
** The role requires knowledge of some (but not all) of the following monitoring tools:
* Logz.io
* Open telemetry (OTEL)
* New Relic* Observe
* A basic knowledge of Amazon Web Services, and Linux and Windows servers is also important.

** This is a permanent position and is based in our Nottingham office. We’ve adopted a flexible hybrid working model - one that creates the opportunity to work in your own way, but also provides great spaces for in-person collaboration. We’re big on collaboration and connection, so you’ll be based in our Nottingham office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
