Roles Responsibilities- Submission of all appropriate Street Works Notices and Permits on all notice/permit systems.
- Assessing permit applications from operations staff to ensure all works are compliant with legislation and appropriate permit scheme conditions.
- Telephone and system support.
- Client liaison.
- Key performance measure reporting.
- Managing requests for early starts, extensions, and amendments required for notices/permits.
- Communicating notice status to field.
- Jeopardy Management of Field Activities and admin activities.
- Receiving and recording timely starts, stops, and register activities to avoid financial penalty.
- Liaising with operations staff and Local Authorities to facilitate applications for road closures, portable traffic signals or other supporting criteria required for successful permit applications.
- Understanding the nature of a Job Pack to ensure correct information is used for Utility prints.
- Obtaining Utility prints from utility providers.
- Workload management, including chasing externally for delayed Utility prints.
- Communicating Stats status to field and planning team to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
- Adhering to in‑house and external procedures relating to utility requests.
- Liaising with utility providers if necessary to review utility prints provided.
- Validation of Utility prints, adhering to Health and Safety procedures such as HSG
47. - Ensuring that the data is correctly logged on the database.
- Maintenance of Utility prints, renewing in a timely manner to support field in meeting business and contract deadlines.
- Receiving packs from Kelly Database.
- Reviewing the job pack in detail to find any discrepancies or missing information, including Traffic Management, Civils or Cabling data.
- Analyzing proposed works to decide if and what traffic management is required.
- Checking Roadworks website and specialised street works software for any noticing issues that may arise.
- Proficient in street works knowledge and its terminology.
- Filling out Civils templates for noticing team to schedule works.
- Ensuring that all updated information is logged on Kelly’s Database and force.
- Communicating with civils and cabling personnel to obtain further information required for the job pack.
- Ensuring all correspondence with site is emailed over.
- Responding to telephone and email enquiries.
- Escalating customer complaints to the Validation Manager.
- Proficient use of software such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of PC systems, client liaison protocols, and experience of noticing & customer liaison.
- Knowledge of the NRSWA (New Roads and Streetworks Act) requirements (advantage).
- Knowledge of street works noticing systems (desirable).
- Proactive with the ability to think ahead.
