Job Description
A client within the Public Sector based in Warwickshire is currently recruiting for a Property Contracts Officer to join their Capital Investment Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full‑time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority housing / corporate property environment.
The RoleKey purpose of the role is to manage capital and revenue contracts (up to circa £2m) to ensure the Council’s housing and corporate property assets are maintained to a high standard, with works delivered in line with contract conditions, legislation, quality requirements and budgetary controls.
Key Responsibilities- Act as Contract Administrator under JCT contracts and ensure compliance with terms and conditions
- Manage procurement processes, develop specifications and tender documentation
- Monitor contractors’ performance, quality of workmanship and customer satisfaction
- Manage budgets, valuations, invoices and financial records for allocated programmes of work
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015, Building Safety Act 2024 and asbestos legislation
- Liaise with internal teams, consultants, contractors and the Clerk of Works to deliver programmes successfully
To be considered for this role you will require :
- NVQ Level 4 in a relevant construction / property discipline (or willingness to work towards)
- Relevant construction, surveying or contract management qualification
- Evidence of continued professional development
The below skills would be beneficial for the role :
- Proven experience in contract administration using JCT suite of contracts
- Strong knowledge of procurement procedures within a local authority
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and customer-focused skills
- Strong financial, IT and project management skills
- Methodical approach with excellent record-keeping abilities
- Good knowledge of housing, capital works and statutory compliance
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £23 per hour Umbrella LTD (Inside IR35) (approx. £18 per hour PAYE).
