Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Psychologist to join our integrated Mental Healthcare team at HMP Stocken, a category C training prison housing around 1,056 patients, the majority aged 21-40.
This role requires an experienced Psychologist familiar with adult mental health presentations, neurodiversity, complex trauma, trauma‑informed approaches, and complex presentations. The Senior Psychologist will be part of the Integrated Mental Health Team, serve as clinical leader, develop the psychological therapies service, manage two Assistant Psychologists, and support staff.
HoursPart‑time, 22.5 hours per week, 3 days a week, Monday‑Friday, flexible days.
SalaryUp to £61,190 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

As a qualified, HCPC registered Psychologist, your responsibilities will include:
- Offer clinical support and oversight to the Integrated Mental Health Team through training, supervision, and reflective practice.
- Conduct psychological assessments and support complex multidisciplinary formulations.
- Deliver 1:1 psychological interventions and group intervention as part of the Trauma‑Informed “Making Sense” Programme.
- Provide teaching and training to healthcare and prison staff as required.
- Contribute to audit, service evaluation, and research activities.

Qualificationsrequired
- Full HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist
- Proven experience in Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychology
- Experience working with Forensic Mental Health patients
- Experience with psychological trauma
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player
