We are seeking a dynamic, highly organised, and enthusiastic Band 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioner to joinour vibrant and fast-paced team at the Medical Centre based at Kendrew Barracks, Oakham.

As part of a combined practice, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and clinical leadership. The role will require occasional travel toother facilities within the group, including Garats Hayand RAF Wittering, to support service delivery.

Full-time role: 37.5 hours per week

Main duties of the job

The primary function of the Band 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) within DPHC is to ensure the safe and effective delivery of nursing care. To provide effective clinical care through history taking, examination, diagnosing and prescribing to patients and to be responsible for all nursing services within the facilities.

Manage all nursing staff in collaboration with serving Military nurses and work closely with Practice Managers and General Practitioners to ensure that nurses are providing evidence-based practice and ensure preventative measures to chronic disease are identified and that active health promotion is delivered.

Mentor junior nurses, medics and healthcare assistants within the combined practice from all disciplines and assist with setting objectives and achieving good health outcomes to support the delivery of care to ensure maximum deployability across the region.

Provide visible leadership of the nursing team and ensure that there is a vision and direction for the team to work towards achieving.

Job responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Clinically practice as a leader, co-ordinator and supervise the nursing practice.
  • Be accountable for the direction of clinical delivery including managing, motivating, supervising, and allocating resource and time to ensure optimum clinical delivery.
  • Ensure maximum optimisation of staff availability and clinical delivery.
  • Ensure that every patient has their needs assessed and programmes of care are designed to meet the needs of the patient and that care is delivered in line with established policies and procedure.
  • Encourage and promote innovative ways of working that are supportive and achieve the goals as directed by Headquarters, Regional Clinical Director, RNA and Regional Pharmacist.
