Production Supervisor - Weekend Shift at BWXT

Position OverviewResponsible for day‑to‑day supervision of a work cell, overseeing both production and quality. Lead the team to meet schedule targets and maintain a safe, clean work environment. Coordinate with day shift for a smooth handoff.
LocationOakville, Ontario – onsite.
Your Day To Day- Manage day‑to‑day production activities and adjust operations to meet daily, weekly and yearly production targets.
- Lead the production team to meet quality and production targets while maintaining a safe and clean facility.
- Develop manufacturing plans consistent with the master schedule and objectives.
- Use the capacity plan and schedule to assign required personnel.
- Coordinate with Quality Control for timely dimensional inspections.
- Collaborate with Engineering on robust work instructions and manufacturing plans.
- Work with Office Services to schedule necessary maintenance for critical machinery.
- Oversee the Weld Room and schedule/lead daily production meetings.
- Drive corrective actions for Quality Alerts.
- Provide training and coaching to new and existing team members, emphasizing safety, quality and productivity.
- Support the needs of each production area (machining, saws, assembly, deburring, wash, packaging, hpporizing, part marking, etc.) including workforce, scheduling, overtime, and training.
- Approve employee hours weekly for Payroll accuracy.
- Report earned hours daily.
- Maintain open communication between employees and management.
- Ensure efficient use of resources and assets.
- Manage shop floor inventory of materials for sufficient WIP.
- Network with leaders to develop a strong culture of motivation.
- Weekend shift Supervisors may have additional duties like using crane/forklift, emptying chip bins, overseeing Quality Control & Shipping/Receiving staff.
- Bachelor’s degree or college certificate in a technical specialty, or skilled‑trade certification as CNC machinist, millwright, or toolmaker.
- Minimum five years of leadership experience in an MRP‑based manufacturing environment using large CNC lathes and/or mills to manufacture precision components from stainless steel and other alloys.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing operations and best practices, including Lean, 5S, SPC, and Continuous Improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams to drive improvement and reduce cost.
- Critical thinker applying a quality mindset to problem solving and decision making.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent ability to read complex mechanical drawings with tight tolerances.
- Proficiency with NC controllers and G‑Code programming.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Compensation and BenefitsBase salary: $89,000–$139,000 per year (Ontario). Total compensation may include annual cash incentive, medical, retirement and other benefits. Details will be provided upon offer.
