Site: Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, 3001 Hospital Gate, Oakville, ON L6M 0L8
Hours: Continental rotating (0700‑1900 / 1900‑0700)
Payrate: $19.63/hour – $22.09/hour based on levelling system
Overtime Eligibility: Averaging Agreement after 88 hours

Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure safety and security.
- Operate security cameras and alarm systems, reporting suspicious activity immediately.
- Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, allowing only authorized individuals access to restricted areas.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations such as medical incidents, fire alarms, or security threats, assisting hospital staff during crises and evacuations.
- Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff, providing directions and ensuring adherence to hospital policies.
- De‑escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts calmly and professionally.
- Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately, completing incident reports.
- Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to coordinate security efforts.
- Ensure compliance with hospital visitor and patient protocols.
- Address violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards.
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Proficient in English (oral and written).
- Degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services is an asset.
- Preferred one year experience in healthcare security, law enforcement, or related field.
- Proof of double COVID vaccination.
- Immunization record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and
2). - Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
- Clean shaven face for N95 mask fit test.
- Certificates in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).
- Applicants lacking UOF/MOAB certifications may opt into Paladin training program prior to onboarding.
