Acclaim Health announces the availability of a Casual Shift RN position to work overnight shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hour in duration in the Halton Area (Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Georgetown) including Mississauga. This position requires the individual to work a minimum of two shifts a week, as well as 1:4 weekends in addition to a statutory holiday rotation.
Pay range: $35.90 - $39.20 per hour

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

• Provide shift nursing care to individuals in a community setting.
• Meets the health needs of the patient/family through the provision of nursing care.
• Develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies the plan of care outlining the strategies, orders and actions to achieve expected/desired outcomes.
• Assesses the health status of the client using a holistic care approach
• Provides palliative care through end of life
• Provides nursing interventions to the full scope of practice
• Administers IV therapy including central line and peripheral line maintenance.
• Administers medications topically through natural body orifices, through tubes and by injections.
• Provides wound care, acute and chronic, for certain types and stages of wounds.
• Attends team meetings as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Current registration with the CNO
• Palliative Care education including Fundamentals of Palliative Care, Pain and Symptom Management and CAPCE is an asset
• 1 – 2 years of experience in providing palliative care
• Experience with CADD PCA pumps
• Tracheotomy and ventilation experience an asset
• Current CPR certificate
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and teaching skills
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
