Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Services help people from all walks of life, supporting families and carers. This role is based at the Cowal Community Hospital, Dunoon, and is focused on maintaining patients’ independence at home, preventing unnecessary admissions, and supporting recovery after leaving hospital.
We are looking to staff a Band 6 Physiotherapist in the newly implemented Ambulatory Emergency Care Team. The service aims to reduce unplanned attendance, admission and onward transfer by providing assessment, treatment and care in the right setting.
The post holder will support assessment, treatment and ongoing care planning/management for eligible patients as part of our alternatives to admission/urgent care pathways. There will be a clear focus on specific clinical presentations, in line with expertise and diagnostic capabilities on site. The unit will contribute to our AHP and Frailty at the Front Door approach.
Additional responsibilities include providing leadership, teaching, and quality improvement and audit work streams to help practitioners achieve the four pillars of practice. Cross‑cover with the Enhanced Community Care Team to support rapid community response, enablement and reablement is also expected.
- Applicants should hold a Diploma/BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy and be HCPC registered.
- Must have permission to work in the UK.
- Experience in relevant specialties – A&E, day services, trauma, and inpatient services – is desirable.
