We are offering an exiting opportunity to apply for areception role at Alexandra Group Medical Practice for 30+ hours.
A highly motivated individual, wanting to progress and exceltheir career. You would be the communications between management and staff, tobe able to delegate the workload and work towards practice achievement.
The applicant needs to be flexible towards the practice needsand be able to accommodate between the working hours of 8am - 6.30pm. We look forward to receiving your application.
The initial contract is fixed for 1 year but this can be reviewed closer to the end of the contract depending on the surgeries situation.
Main duties of the jobEnsure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors tothe practice
Deal with all general enquiries,explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments, either over the telephone or face to face.
Appropriately signpost patients
Processing and distributingincoming mail and email
Filing and retrieving paperwork
Processing repeat prescriptionsin accordance with practice guidelines
Computer data entry/dataallocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures
Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associatedhealthcare agencies and providers
Providing administrationassistance as required from time to time, including filing, photocopying and scanning
Ensure that all new patients areregistered onto the computer system promptly and accurately
Receive and make telephone callsas required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring you remain professionalat all times.
Ensure the kitchen is kept cleanand tidy in turn with other staff.
Keeping the reception area andnotice-boards tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
Work well within the team.
About usWe are a medium sized practice with just over 7,400patients.
The practice has;
3 GP partners,1 salaried GP 2 Practice nurses and 1
Phlebotomist.
12 admin staff.
We also have staff proved by the PCN who arefulfilling the ARRS roles.
We like to see ourselves as a small family, we tryto support each other through our daily working life and would like welcome anew member.
Job responsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities to be undertaken bymembers of the reception team will include direction from the senior administrator via the practice manager. these may be varied dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels.
Person Specification Qualifications- GCSE English A to C
- Patient care / patient support
- Ability to adapt.
- Understanding of,
- QOF and PCIS.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and virtually. Must be able to always work in a calm and courteous manner. Must be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Experience of dealing with the public (GP practice desirable) Neat and tidy appearance with appropriate work attire. Good IT skills (word, excel, emails, docman, accurx). Worked previously in general practice.
Knowledge of EMIS WEB.
