Newly Qualified General Practitioner (GP ARRS)
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated newly qualified GP (within 2 years of qualification and without prior substantive GP employment) to join our multidisciplinary team for eight sessions per week (equivalent to three days). This role, under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS), aims to enhance patient access to primary care services and improve health outcomes within our community.
Main duties of the job- Patient Consultations: Conduct routine and urgent appointments through face‑to‑face and telephone consultations, delivering safe, evidence‑based, and individualized care.
- Clinical Examinations & Care Plans: Perform comprehensive assessments addressing both physiological and psychological needs. Develop personalised care plans with timely referrals in line with practice and local guidelines.
- Independent Prescribing: Prescribe medications within your scope of practice, adhering to local and national prescribing guidelines, and promote health strategies encouraging healthier lifestyles.
- Home Visits: Manage routine and emergency home visits as required.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Handle administrative tasks such as responding to queries, managing repeat prescriptions, reviewing test results, and preparing referral letters promptly.
- Clinical Management: Oversee patient care, initiate investigations, review results, and make appropriate referrals to secondary care or other providers, developing treatment plans that align with disease management protocols and NICE guidelines.
- Collaboration: Work alongside other health and social care providers to ensure integrated care and maintain accurate, up‑to‑date patient records.
- Team Support: Support both clinical and administrative staff in maintaining high standards and meeting practice targets.
Kapur Family Care is a long‑established GP practice committed to providing first‑rate medical services to our diverse patient population of approximately 12,000 individuals. Our practice area encompasses the Chadderton, Coppice, Hollins, Werneth, and Westwood areas of Oldham. As a training practice, we are actively involved in mentoring new GPs, reflecting our dedication to continuous learning and high‑quality patient care.
Job responsibilitiesWe are seeking a newly qualified GP (within 2 years of CCT, not previously in a substantive GP role) to join our friendly team at Kapur Family Care for eight sessions per week. As part of the ARRS scheme, this post is offered under the ARRS (Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme). The role involves:
- Deliver high‑quality patient care through face‑to‑face and telephone consultations, home visits, prescribing, and chronic disease management.
- Participate in clinical meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and holistic patient care.
- Newly qualified GPs welcome (within 2 years of CCT)
