Building Surveyor

We are currently working in partnership with a Social Housing Provider in the North West, who are recruiting for a permanent Damp and Mould Surveyor to cover Oldham and Rochdale.

This is a permanent position, with the salary for the role being £44,414 plus a company vehicle, as well as extensive list of benefits. The ideal candidate will be available to start in January / February 2026.

The ideal candidate will have extensive damp, mould experience and happy liaising with tenants in a friendly manner and explaining the causes of Damp and Mould.

• Conducting detailed inspections of residential and commercial properties to identify damp and mould issues
• Working knowledge of Awaab’s law
• Assessing moisture sources, condensation levels, and ventilation performance
• Diagnosing causes of damp, including rising damp, penetrating damp, and condensation
• Using specialist equipment to measure humidity, moisture content, and air quality
• Recording findings accurately and producing clear technical reports
• Recommending remedial actions in line with housing standards and best practice
• Advising occupants and landlords on prevention and maintenance measures
• Liaising with landlords, contractors, and housing officers regarding findings
  
  Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and housing regulations
• Monitoring follow-up works and verifying effectiveness of remedial treatments

• Experience carrying out Damp and Mould Surveys
• Experience liaising with tenants in a friendly manner
• Experience in finding the root cause of Damp and Mould
• HNC or equivalent qualifications

• 35 hours per week
• 08 : 30 – 16 : 00
• Monday – Friday, Flexible Start / Finish Times
