Lead Design Engineer

We are working with a key client, founded in 1960, is a “Leader by Design” of high and low-pressure cartridge valves, reducing stations, and manifolds for critical and demanding applications. They are currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Design Engineer to join their business in Oldham.

• Must have over 5 years working experience as a Lead Design Engineer
• Ideally degree educated in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• We will consider apprentice trained individuals
• Experience of 3D CAD is required
• Must have extensive experience and proven background in engineering manufacturing
• Must have some experience of leadership and mentoring small to medium teams
• Strong grasp of mechanical principles and system design methodologies
• Experience with Math Cad for pressure and strength calculations would be beneficial
• Familiarity with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a plus
• Knowledge of GD&T practices and manufacturing engineering is highly desirable
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical concepts clearly
• Leadership potential with a collaborative and growth‑oriented mindset The leadership skills to maintain and develop specialised mechanical design team.
• Security clearance and DBS checks will be carried out

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events
