Electrical Design Engineer

Apply as an Electrical Design Engineer at Duxvalves – a leading specialist manufacturer with global presence.

Salary: c £45k Basic doe.
Working pattern: 9 day working fortnight (weekdays).

• Design products from concept through to production release to a given specification, agreed timescales and to company Quality Management System (QMS).
• Work within a multi-disciplined development team environment and use initiative to achieve the project requirements.
• Create electrical schematic layout designs.
• Generate detailed technical documentation (drawings, BOMs, manuals, etc.).
• Generate comprehensive component specifications and designs.
• Reduce product costs by re‑designing existing products.
• Assist production/service engineers when requested.
• Collaborate fully with production engineering on new product launch.
• Design testing criteria.
• Produce ECNs for design updates or changes.

• Minimum HNC qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline.
• Proven electrical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Competent to read and interpret electrical drawings/schematics and produce design calculations.
• Willingness to work hands‑on to assist fault‑finding on electrical systems.
• Knowledge of Electrical Design Software; ability to create/edit schematics and produce BOMs.
• Understanding of PLC systems.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Highly motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
