Part-Time Accountant Remote – Xero, Reports & KPIs

About Us We are an  international travel and tourism company  operating in the UK and Iceland.
Our business includes tours, activities, and travel services sold via:
Direct bookings
Online Travel Agencies (OTAs)
Multiple payment methods and bank accounts
We have already  simplified our accounting structure  and now need a  part-time accountant  to help us maintain clean books, monthly P&L, and management KPIs using  Xero and Excel/Google Sheets .

Role Overview This role is for someone who understands  real-world accounting logic , not just theory.
We already provide:
Sales Excel sheets  ready for upload into Xero
Clear monthly structure for  Profit & Loss

Your role is to  review, apply logic, post correctly, and report clearly .

Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Xero Posting  Review prepared  sales Excel sheets
Upload sales into  Xero
Ensure:
Correct dates
Correct revenue accounts
Consistent posting logic
2. Expenses & Bank Statements  Review  bank statements
Identify and categorise expenses (fuel, staff, marketing, admin, etc.)
Prepare expenses for Xero using:
Bank reconciliation
Bank rules
Purchase entries where needed
3. Monthly P&L  Ensure monthly  Profit & Loss  is accurate
Match Excel summaries with  Xero P&L
Flag missing or incorrect entries
4. KPIs, Reports & Graphs  Build  simple KPI reports and graphs , such as:
Monthly revenue trend
Cost trend
Gross margin trend
Channel / booking performance (basic)
Use  Excel / Google Sheets :
Pivot tables
Summary tables
Clear charts for management review
5. Process & Logic  Follow the existing accounting logic
Suggest  practical improvements
Help maintain a  repeatable monthly process
Requirements  Strong understanding of  basic accounting  (revenue, expenses, P&L)
Strong  Excel / Google Sheets  skills

Experience with  Xero
Comfortable working with  bank statements
Able to explain accounting logic clearly in writing
Detail-oriented and disciplined
Preferred (not mandatory):

Experience with  travel / tourism / OTA-based businesses

Experience with  payment gateways
Experience building  management KPIs and charts
Working Hours & Compensation   Part-time:  4 hours per day, 5 days per week
Approx.  80 hours per month
Salary range:  25,000 – 30,000 INR per month (based on experience)

A  simple monthly P&L
2–3 KPI graphs , such as:
Revenue trend
Cost trend
Margin or channel performance
C. Explanation Add a short written explanation (inside the sheet or separate document):
Your accounting logic
How this process should be repeated for future months
