Bookkeeper - Specializing in QBO/Xero

Our client is a cryptocurrency, blockchain, and digital asset-focused tax, accounting, and advisory firm. They’re not your typical accountancy firm. They’re passionate about crypto, live DeFi, and work with some pretty rad people doing rad things. Since their launch, they’ve experienced rapid growth and are now expanding their team to include an experienced Bookkeeper.

    • Responsibilities

  • Reconcile fiat transactions using QBO or Xero, leveraging the latest tools and features.
  • Reconcile crypto transactions using tools like Gilded or Bitwave.
  • Post adjusting journal entries for summarized transactions from the crypto tax team.
  • Identify and adjust incorrectly imported or missing transactions.
  • Review atypical and missing transactions to ensure complete and accurate records.
  • Generate financial reports and prepare balance sheet reporting work papers for on-chain balances.
  • Ensure accuracy of data integrations and syncs within accounting software.
  • Draft clear findings and communicate them to clients.
  • Collaborate with the team on best practices, workflows, and client updates.
  • Exercise judgment in determining when to aim for 100% accuracy versus achieving material correctness.

    • Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a remote or crypto-focused environment.
  • Proficiency in QBO or Xero is essential.
  • Experience reconciling crypto transactions using tools like Gilded or Bitwave (or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong data and reconciliation skills, with the ability to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Familiarity with cryptocurrency, blockchain, and DeFi activities (staking, liquidity pools, yield farming) is a bonus.
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a flexible remote work setting.
  • CPA/CA or equivalent credential is a plus but not required.
