This full‑time position delivers essential administrative support to ensure smooth office operations and excellent client service.
Base pay rangeHours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Location: Upper Poppleton, York. Office‑based with home working available in exceptional circumstances and by prior agreement.
Salary: £28,000.00 per annum + benefits.
Torque Law LLP is a specialist employment law practice based just outside York, named Niche Law Firm of the Year at the 2024 Yorkshire Legal Awards and featured in the Times Best Law Firms List 2025. The firm, founded by Tiggy Clifford and Emma Whiting in 2016, offers HR legal advice to employers and senior executives, settlement agreements, business immigration, and employment law training.
Coreresponsibilities
- Provide administrative support to Partners, Fee Earners, and the Practice Manager across a broad range of legal and business activities.
- Assist with client matter administration, including compliance checks, engagement letters, advice notes, file closure paperwork and archiving.
- Support billing preparation, general office administration, and office‑wide tasks.
- Help coordinate marketing and events, including content creation, mailers, social media updates, PowerPoint presentations, and event literature.
- Scanning, reviewing, collating, and bundling documents.
- Answering and directing phone calls professionally and efficiently.
- Preparing bills and general office assistance.
- Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Prepare and send mailers to clients and subscribers.
- Assist with basic marketing tasks, including updating content and supporting promotional initiatives.
- Assist with event preparation:
PowerPoint presentations, printing handouts, name badges and other literature.
- Clear, professional communication, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- High standards of accuracy and use of own initiative.
- Willingness to undertake all relevant training.
- Experience with MS Forms, Canva, Mailchimp and Word Press.
- Previous experience in a legal or professional services environment.
- Familiarity with case management systems (training will be provided).
