Information Governance Officer

Your new role

• Assist in the effective implementation of corporate governance and business processes and controls and corporate processes relating to information governance, standards and legislation.
• Assist the Corporate Director Governance/Board Secretary in coordinating responses to requests for information under the Data Protection Act 1998 and requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, contributing to the maintenance of the Publication Scheme and the FOI Disclosure Log.
• Assist the Corporate Director of Governance/Board Secretary in further developing and implementing the wider information governance policy framework, developing training and raising awareness of data protection, safe information sharing and use and also freedom of information.
• Assist the Corporate Director with the wider policy framework in terms of co-ordination, development and publication of policies and developing bespoke sections in records management arrangements.

What you'll need to succeed

• Information Governance experience
• Corporate Governance experience
• Document drafting and data protection
• An understanding of the FOI Act

What you'll get in return

• Hybrid/remote working - flexible in working arrangements as long as you can get to the Cardiff office as and when required.
• 16.69 per hour
• DBS check is covered by the agency.
• Possible extension past March 2026
• The local office is accessible via public transport.
