Position: Early Years Funding Lead (Permanent)
Interim Early Years Funding Lead

6-month contract, potential of extension/perm offer

We are seeking an experienced Early Years Funding Manager to join our service on an interim basis for up to 6 months, supporting the delivery of statutory Early Years entitlements across the borough.

This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience managing Early Years funding within a Local Authority, and who can quickly take ownership of funding systems, payments, and provider relationships.

Key responsibilities

Lead on the delivery of DfE Early Years Entitlements, including capital and revenue funding
Manage and oversee payments to registered Early Years providers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
Act as a key point of contact for providers, building strong, collaborative partnerships
Use and manage the Synergy system to support funding processes and reporting
Provide day-to-day management and support to a small team
Ensure work is delivered to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

About you

Proven experience of Early Years funding management within a Local Authority
Strong understanding of Early Years entitlements and funding streams
Confident user of the Synergy system
Collaborative, pragmatic, and solutions-focused
Able to hit the ground running and add value quickly
