About the Role

We are looking for a commercially minded Commercial Analyst to support a specific company within the Group, partnering closely with senior stakeholders to drive better decision-making through data and insight. This role focuses on understanding how the business operates, identifying opportunities for value creation, and translating data into clear, actionable commercial recommendations.

Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with business leaders and functional teams to understand commercial drivers, performance metrics and business logic.
  • Conduct in-depth commercial analysis to identify opportunities, risks, trends and drivers of performance.
  • Use Power BI and analytical tools to explore data, create targeted insights and support decision-making.
  • Develop ad-hoc and bespoke analytical outputs.
  • Translate complex data into clear commercial narratives and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, pricing, margin analysis and performance tracking where required.
  • Act as a bridge between the business and central Data & BI teams, feeding requirements and insights back into the wider data ecosystem.
  • Continuously challenge assumptions and promote a data-driven culture within the business unit.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in a Commercial Analyst, Business Analyst, Finance Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link data insights to business outcomes.
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience using Power BI for analysis and insight generation.
  • Strong SQL skills and comfort working directly with curated datasets.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive analysis end-to-end.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity with data.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience working within a business-unit aligned or embedded analytics role.
  • Exposure to Fabric or modern cloud data platforms.
  • Understanding of financial concepts such as revenue, margin, cost drivers and forecasting.
  • Experience influencing decisions at senior management level.
  • Familiarity with self-service analytics and data governance principles.
