About The Team AndThe Role Data & Insight
Data & insight is at the heart of the Ocado Retail grocery team – from advising the buying team on promotions to building models for new loyalty schemes and personalised marketing campaigns. We run regular training sessions on key tools – visualisations, presentation skills, SQL, VBA and more.
Role SummaryAs a Supplier Insight Analyst you will join the Grocery Insight Team to collaborate with one of our largest suppliers, learning how customers decide what products to buy and how they find them online. The role involves extracting, manipulating and analysing data to make critical recommendations both internally and externally.
What You’ll Do- Extract, manipulate and analyse data to provide critical management information to enable decision making on key retail and supplier questions.
- Draw out commercial implications of analyses and provide concise summaries to senior management.
- Write SQL code to extract data from Oracle and Big Query databases.
- Work directly with external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal trading teams to drive growth.
- Numerate and analytical with experience in retail or consumer‑facing FMCG.
- Commercially aware and able to solve problems.
- Curious about customer motivations and human behaviour.
- Strong communication, teamwork and influencing skills.
- Excellent Excel skills and experience with SQL.
- Strong written and verbal communicator.
- Excellent stakeholder management.
- Numerical or technical degree (2:1+), Mathematics A Level or equivalent Grade B+.
- Tableau experience advantageous.
