For 30 years Jisc has pioneered digital solutions for UK education and research, transforming how knowledge is created, shared and used. We are uniquely positioned to protect, promote and lead the sector in digital and data transformation, making a difference to students, communities and society. Together, we are working to build a better digital future for education and research. Raise your potential at Jisc through our culture of lifelong learning.

At Jisc, we're all about growth, so embrace new challenges, sharpen your skills and shape a career that excites you.

The role:

The FE and Skills directorate is the primary point of contact for Jisc’s FE and Skills members across the UK. It is the directorate’s role to ensure member and funder satisfaction through maximising uptake of services across supported sectors (to generate additional income and embed Jisc's position as the sector’s trusted partner).

As the Relationship manager, you will own a portfolio of FES accounts as a single point of contact. Through effective relationship management with senior leaders, operational leads and influencers in member organisations, you will work to ensure members maximise the value of their Jisc membership through take‑up of services, will capitalise on leads to sell new product and services from across the broad Jisc portfolio, and position Jisc as the sector's trusted digital partner to help secure our core funding.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Act as the principal point of contact with respect to all Jisc products, services and development programmes.
  • Conduct reviews and relationship management activities with a portfolio of members, with respect to the organisational consumption of Jisc products and services, and identify how members can further increase the value of their Jisc membership.
  • Generate more revenue from accounts that are already spending money with us and develop additional business.
  • Assure the quality of service Jisc delivers to members, facilitating service delivery teams to do what is necessary for specific accounts, including troubleshooting and handling of complaints.
  • Identify new business that can contribute to Jisc’s continued development, supporting a corporate business development strategy.
  • Engage with relevant community groups and key stakeholders in order to support member relationship management and embedding Jisc’s position in the UK’s FES sectors.
What we are looking for:
  • A proven track record of effective member relationship management.
  • A successful track record of generating sales from within a complex technology organisation.
  • A proven record of growing existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills, being able to explain complex issues in plain terms to non-specialists.
  • Must be comfortable with a matrix management environment and be willing to operate flexibly across a large and often diverse geography and membership base.
  • As a field-based worker, will be comfortable with regular travel, working on‑the‑move and working remotely from an office environment. A driving licence would be beneficial.
