We are looking for an Experienced Quantity Surveyor with a track record in managing all costs and income within their area of responsibility. They seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Preferably, they will be a Chartered Member of the RICS, CICES or CIOB or working to achieve one in the near future.
Experience of managing a small team of commercial staff as well as mentoring others on their journey to becoming professionally qualified is desirable. They will maintain their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Request information and systematically check data
- Prepare Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyse tender documents
- Critically appraise, estimate and negotiate the above with 3rd parties
- Review complex contract programmes such as Time-Location
- Assist with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes
- Monitor subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriately
- Prepare internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation and report to senior project staff
- Understand the Customer Contract and undertake customer and stakeholder management
- Analyse rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required
- Prepare, submit and negotiate claims when required
- Manage commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibility
- Undertake constructability analyses using construction programmes
- Prepare procurement programme and help develop strategy
- Support recruitment, supervision and development of team members
- A good knowledge of and adheres to the Company’s governance requirements and maximises LEAN/digital opportunities
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent knowledge
- MRICS/MCInstCES/MCIOB or working towards
- CSCS Card (Professional Qualified Person)
