Estimator - Swindon, Wiltshire

£70,000 per annum (plus a company vehicle/car allowance)

Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction Limited is a leading international civil engineering company, specialising in complex market segments such as Transportation, Energy, Tunnelling, Building, Civil and Structural Engineering.

We are looking to expand our Work Winning team with a skilled and enthusiastic Estimator to be based in our Head Office in Swindon, Wiltshire.

• Assist with the preparations of detailed and accurate pricing for tenders and support Clients with pricing support for early contractor involvement projects.
• Work in coordination with the Bid Manager to ensure competitive pricing and agree methodologies and outputs for key activities with planners and, where appropriate, with the Bid Manager/Design Manager.
• Produce competitive prices using methodologies and outputs, reviewing sufficiency of client bill of quantity/activity schedule and arranging full quantity take‑off or checking as required.
• Prepare final pricing documentation for inclusion with tender submissions and ensure pricing maintains a positive cash flow throughout the project where possible.

Within this role you will have:

• A sound knowledge of civil engineering and construction techniques, and knowledge of relevant procurement legislation.
• An awareness of different forms of contract and a detailed knowledge of estimating software packages.
• Experience of working in a full time office based role and ability to work in the Swindon Head Office 5 days a week until successful completion of the probationary period, after which you can apply to work from home 1 day per week.
