Thinktank Video Productions Manchester is currently looking for a Freelance Video Editor to work alongside its in-house production team. Our editing team is led by an RTV award-winning craft editor who has worked on many broadcast television productions, from documentaries, TV series and TV adverts. We are always on the lookout for individuals to fill freelance video editor roles as we have a diverse and established local and international client-base.

This role is particularly suitable for individuals who are skilled at editing corporate video productions.

This role will be particularly suitable for editors who are proficient at making corporate films, e.g. within Healthcare, The NHS, Manufacturing, Education, Public Sector, Charity, Finance and Technology — where a significant portion of our work is focused.

Thinktank Video Productions produces TV productions, Live Events and Corporate Videos and is part of the Thinktank Group of companies, which includes Thinktank Marketing Manchester.

The Freelance Video Editor Job involves:

• You should have a good knowledge of video editing and a full understanding of editing corporate videos. An understanding and proven experience using Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve is an advantage. You should be proficient in managing multiple projects, with the ability to follow production workflows.
• Planning and Organising: We expect all of our staff to have good organisational skills and a reasonable sense of urgency so that meetings, timescales and deadlines are adhered to. Each film we make needs good planning, plus the flexibility to adapt to ever-changing environments when making corporate video productions.
• If you are involved in editing any sensitive materials, including footage involving vulnerable adults or children or projects involving settings like the NHS or hospitals, care homes or similar settings, you should have valid DBS clearance and be willing to undergo any further security checks as appropriate for the work involved.
• Problem Solving and Decision Making: Projects occasionally involve unexpected events. We look for individuals who can think on their feet and make common-sense adjustments to their working day to fulfil filming duties.
• People Skills & Teamwork:
  It is essential to treat clients, the public and colleagues with respect and dignity. Thinktank promotes a positive working environment and has a zero tolerance policy for discriminatory behaviours. Freelance crew are expected to remain calm, respectful and dignified, even in stressful filming situations.
• Expertise & Skills: You should be able to work independently and have a basic understanding of media formats from various cameras and sources. Competence in editing Social Media Video Content for Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, You Tube and Vimeo (including 1:1 and 9:16 formats) is desirable. Experience with Open and Closed Captions in Adobe Premiere is a distinct advantage.

• Any references to Broadcast Television work or Feature Film work should be verifiable through IMDB’s database.
• Formal qualifications may demonstrate technical understanding of video editing; you should also provide evidence of previous project work within your CV.
