The FX Artist (Unity) plays a key role in bringing VRIFY’s platform to life by designing and implementing real‑time visual effects that support storytelling, interactivity, and data visualization. Embedded within the Platform Engineering & Solution team, this role collaborates closely with CG artists, designers, geoscientists, and engineers to ensure our visual experiences meet a high bar for both quality and performance.
Working alongside product, client delivery, and development teams, the FX Artist contributes to building and refining FX pipelines, improving workflows, and supporting an evolving product and customer journey as VRIFY continues to grow.
Who You Are- A creative FX Artist with a strong real‑time VFX background, especially in Unity.
- Comfortable blending artistic vision with technical optimization.
- Highly collaborative, with experience working in cross‑functional teams (art, product, engineering).
- Detail‑oriented and proud of delivering polished, production‑ready FX.
- A self‑starter who is energized by solving problems in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
- Design and create high‑quality real‑time visual effects within Unity (particles, shaders, lighting FX, environmental effects).
- Develop and implement custom shaders and materials using Unity’s Shader Graph or HLSL.
- Integrate FX assets into Unity scenes and ensure efficient performance across a range of devices and hardware.
- Collaborate with designers, CG artists, and engineers to trigger and synchronize FX with interactive events, timelines, animation events, or scripting.
- Optimize FX systems to balance visual fidelity with runtime performance.
- Maintain FX consistency, quality, and style across multiple projects and features.
- Contribute to improving FX workflows, tools, and pipeline standards as the team and product scale.
- 2–5 years of professional experience as an FX Artist or Real‑Time VFX Artist.
- Strong Unity experience, particularly with particle systems, VFX Graph, and shader creation.
- Solid understanding of real‑time rendering and performance optimization.
- Experience integrating and troubleshooting FX triggers (timeline, animation events, or scripting).
- Familiarity with 3D tools such as Blender, Maya, or Houdini for asset preparation and simulations.
- Strong technical and creative problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross‑disciplinary environment.
- Experience with C# scripting or shader coding (HLSL/Shader Lab).
- Familiarity with other engines (e.g., Unreal or custom real‑time tools).
- Salary Range: $65,000–$75,000 (annual, depending on experience)
