Architectural Technician - Mid Devon

An established and innovative architecture practice with over 40 years of experience in residential, commercial, and community projects is seeking an Architectural Technician to join their team. Recognised for sustainable design, the practice is a member of both RIBA and RICS and delivers projects across the South West of England.

Role Overview

This full-time position is primarily site-based in Mid Devon, with a hybrid working arrangement offering some flexibility for office-based or home working on limited days. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed technical, working, construction, and architectural drawings, ensuring designs comply with current regulations and standards. Collaboration with architects, consultants, and other team members is central to the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed architectural, working, and construction drawings using Revit for residential and commercial projects.
  • Ensure all designs meet relevant UK Building Regulations and construction standards.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, consultants, and the wider project team.
  • Develop and refine design solutions using Revit and other industry-standard software.
  • Support project coordination and problem-solving throughout the design and construction process.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven expertise as a Technician or Technologist.
  • Strong technical skills in producing architectural and construction drawings.
  • Proficiency in Revit is essential.
  • Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction standards.
  • Effective communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
  • Membership of professional bodies such as CIAT is advantageous.
