Applications are invited for a Consultant Cellular Pathologist to join the Cellular Pathology Department, Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. This position is a replacement post and the successful applicant will join six other substantive consultants to fully staff the department in providing core cellular pathology services in the Highlands and Islands.
Key responsibilities- Provide overall reporting of cellular pathology services, including general and sub‑specialist reporting.
- Take part in the general rota and work a range of reporting duties.
- Support teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff.
- Provide an extra‑contractual autopsy service for the Scottish Fatalities Investigation Unit.
- Participate in remote working and inter‑departmental sharing of images and data.
- Use the Cirdan Ultra Laboratory Information Management System, Philips digital pathology equipment and other digital imaging tools.
This is a ten‑programmed activity basis, but part‑time applicants will be considered. The post offers flexibility and a graduated workload for first appointments.
LocationRaigmore Hospital, Inverness – a modern district general hospital with around 450 beds, serving a catchment area of almost 10,000 square miles across the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
