Position: Salaried GP

The Tutbury Practice are looking for a salaried GP (or GPs!) for 4-8sessions! Interesting in being part of our friendly and supportive team? Readon!

What We Offer:

Were looking for 6-8 sessions, which could comprise of one 6 session GP, or two 4session GPs depending on applicants.

One duty day (triage) per week 8am-6.30pmrequired across the 8 sessions

Low home visit rate

13 appointments per session (15 minute face toface, 10 minute telephone)

Pay £11500 without duty, £12000 per session per year withduty day.

6 weeks annual leave, pro-rata CPD

About us

The Tutbury Practice is a friendly semi-rural GP surgery located in the village of Tutbury, providing high-quality primary care to a patient population of approximately 8,500. We proudly serve patients from Tutbury and the surrounding areas, including Rolleston, Hatton, and Stretton.

Our clinical team is made up of two GP partners and three salaried GPs, supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team that includes a clinical pharmacist, nurse practitioner, and first contact physiotherapist. We are also fortunate to have a friendly, experienced nursing team, alongside a dedicated administration and reception team who play a vital role in supporting patient care.

The practice operates a total digital triage system using accu

Rx, enabling efficient access to care and streamlined patient communication. We use EMIS Web and Docman to support safe, effective clinical practice and document management.

The Tutbury Practice is a training practice for GP registrars and medical students and is an active research practice, contributing to research that helps improve patient care locally and nationally. We hold regular clinical and practice meetings to support teamwork, learning, and service development, and we consistently achieve high QOF outcomes.

Job responsibilities

Duties: The workload of the Surgery is shared jointly by the clinicians available on the day. The salaried GP is expected to take part in the share of clinical duties including the below list. The needs of the patient population and medical practice should be taken into consideration, meaning this list is not exhaustive and is subject to review and amendment by mutual agreement.

Clinical Duties
:
Appointments, visits, dealing with queries from patients or other health care professionals.

Home Visits (if appropriate and agreed): These are shared amongst the GP team or the Specialist Practitioner present on the day, if patient appropriate and depending on workload. AVS can be used where appropriate.

Remote Consultations: Some clinics may be required to be taken via remote consultation using the approved technology. Where operational standards are met for home working, remote clinics can be carried out at your place of residence or some other agreed place outside of the Practice as agreed with the Managing Partner.

Being on Call and Total Digital Triage: The salaried GP will be required to participate in on-call duties once per week
, providing clinical advice and support as needed. This includes responding to urgent patient queries, coordinating care with other healthcare professionals, and ensuring continuity of care outside normal clinic hours. In addition, the GP will be involved with the total digital triage system
, reviewing patient requests submitted via approved digital platforms and ensuring timely, safe, and appropriate clinical responses. On-call and triage duties will be shared fairly amongst the GP team and scheduled in advance wherever possible.

Administration/Paperwork: Arising both directly from own and Practice caseload (referrals, investigations, results). The Salaried GP is responsible for their own patient-associated referrals, correspondence, administration, and paperwork. They will be expected to take a share of practice general incoming clinical correspondence (scanned documents), repeat prescriptions, results, and patient-associated tasks (patient enquiries and phone calls). Any results that get processed by yourself must be actioned appropriately including calling or texting the patient to inform them.

QoF & Clinical Read coding: Opportunistic and ad-hoc QoF monitoring, ensuring accurate clinical read coding, using templates where available, to assist with Practice contractual compliance and monitoring. The Salaried GP is responsible for ensuring that they are familiar with the protocols and procedures surrounding the collection of data, PPA, and invoicing for private or NHS…
