• Undertake the structural engineering design for discrete packages of work including the production of reports, calculation packages and specifications.
• Supervise technicians in the production of 3D models and drawings that clearly communicate the structural engineering solutions.
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to produce coordinated design solutions.
• Communicate your design solutions verbally and through sketching, drawing, writing and presentations.
• Visit site to carry out inspections during the construction phase, and to assess existing structures.
• Report directly to the lead structural engineer and engage with multidisciplinary design teams including external consultants.

• A degree in structural engineering and progressing towards Chartered status (MIStruct
  
  E / MICE).
• A working knowledge of structural engineering principles and the application of Eurocodes.
• A developing understanding of the appropriate use of analytical techniques and design software.
• An interest in low carbon design and the assessment of embodied carbon in your design solutions.
• A willingness to take responsibility for your designs, be proactive and support less experienced members of the team.
• Security clearance prior to appointment.
