Program OverviewThe Project Management (Engineering) Graduate Programme offers a blend of personal and professional development, exposing you to the frontline and core of our business. Over 27 months you’ll spend three inspirational placements across our capital delivery and engineering teams, covering the end‑to‑end process of project and programme life cycles, water/waste networks design and delivery, and water/waste treatment asset design and delivery.
WhatYou’ll Learn
- Take a proactive approach to delivering project outcomes – leading meetings, capturing outputs and actions.
- Engage teams and contractors, and drive progress as outlined in project plans.
- Identify solutions to project challenges and secure management support when needed.
- Complete contract actions on time and demonstrate confidence in managing projects.
- Understand both technical and non‑technical issues and create clear action plans.
- Build resilience and a driven mindset, tackling challenges through stakeholder collaboration.
- A ‘can‑do’ attitude – willing to get stuck in, take accountability, and take pride in your work.
- A love of variety and the ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Quick prioritisation skills and an initiative to dive head‑first into problem‑solving.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enjoying work with multiple teams.
- Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate information to diverse audiences.
- Willingness to travel freely across our patch to visit sites and attend meetings and training.
- Curiosity to learn quickly in a reactive and dynamic setting, anticipating challenges.

Location: Severn Trent Headquarters, Coventry, CV1 2LZ
Duration: 27 months
Starting Salary: £31,500
Entry Criteria: Project Management, Construction or Engineering degree or a similar discipline in an APM (Association for Project Management) accredited course is preferred.
Driving Requirements: Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle upon starting the role.
