Responsibilities- Cross connecting patch panels; installing hardware and other equipment
- Assisting senior network engineers to identify and resolve network security issues
- Researching new technologies in order to support analysis of existing systems
- Documenting network problems and resolution for future reference
- Bidding and pricing network related projects with senior engineers
Education and Experience
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT) B.S. and 0-2 Years of Relevant Experience
Required Working Knowledge- Network + Firewalls and VPN solutions Cisco routers and switches of various models
- Must be able to configure wireless devices
- Systems:
Windows, Cisco Systems, UNIX - Networking:
Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, SNMP, STP, DNS
- Systems:
- Familiar with operating systems such as Unix and Microsoft
- Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills.
- Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical skills, time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
- Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills is a plus.
- Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
- Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
- Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
- Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
