Project Maintenance Planner

Our client is a well-known, worldwide major oil and gas company undertaking a multi-billion-dollar project in Eastern Indonesia. The project will deliver new production platforms to enhance gas supply to LNG facilities, perform gas compression to boost gas pressure for sustained delivery, and introduce the first carbon capture facilities in Indonesia. The carbon capture system will store CO₂ in the reservoir to reduce emissions and support enhanced oil recovery.

This development represents one of Indonesia’s most significant sustainable energy projects with substantial economic benefits.

The project is seeking a Project Maintenance Planner
, to work on a minimum 4-year contract. The role will deliver the maintenance and integrity build program to support startup and ensure long-term sustainable operations. This is a high-profile position with end-to-end responsibilities for preparing project readiness for operations. The position offers competitive remuneration and hybrid working arrangements (office-based, home-based, or site-based). Candidates must have proven experience in delivering maintenance and inspection plan programs, preferably within large-scale projects in the energy sector.

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Planner in the Oil & Gas industry, or Diploma degree with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience.
• Must be a graduate from a reputable university.

• Strong background in site-based maintenance planning and execution within operations.
• Project planning experience is preferred, particularly in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, or Power industries.
• Proven track record in executing maintenance for large-scale facilities.
• Experience in TAR (Turnaround) planning, control of work, and detailed knowledge of site safety processes.
• Familiarity with maintenance & inspection build development and maintenance build tools is an advantage.

• Proficient in using CMMS (preferably SAP PM) and Materials Management.
• Extensive experience with Maintenance Management Systems.

Based in Jakarta with flexibility for hybrid working (office/site/home-based) and the ability to travel to site as required.

• Support identification of maintainable equipment and creation of the Functional Location Hierarchy.
• Support creation of proformas and the Maintenance & Inspection build Execution Plan to ensure project intent and long-term value delivery.
• Support identification of spare parts and materials required for maintenance, including purchasing and stocking strategy.
• Validate ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) material settings to ensure accurate planning and availability. Develop task lists and associated Bills of Materials (BoM).
• Deliver work packaging (including nesting, revision codes, and outage models) within the agreed framework.
• Ensure work packages are executable, considering isolation boundaries, safety requirements, and local work management processes.
• Include post-packaging details such as planner groups, safety-critical work (SCW) identification, maintenance plan descriptions, and related documentation.
• Enhance execution readiness by defining the people, tools, materials, services, execution hours, and work instructions needed to safely carry out the work.
• Support delivery of the Quality Assurance Plan for execution content.
• Contribute to project-level resource loading, smoothing, and optimization.
• Review Start-Up requirements related to Maintenance & Inspection deliverables and prepare for the Startup Assurance Review.
• Remain flexible to flow-to-work in areas of highest priority, which may include maintainability studies, maintenance strategy development, or other project deliverables.
