Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Finished Goods Senior Gore Engineer, you will collaborate with highly technical teams to execute and develop seasonal product plans—from pre‑season proof‑of‑concept to finalized finished‑goods toolbox—ready for inline execution each season. You bridge manufacturing, product development, and pattern‑making experts to ensure that testing and validation methods for Gore technical sets are consistent, measurable, and scalable for manufacturing.

Technical Sets are combinations of materials, technologies, and construction methods that require testing to validate feasibility, durability, strength, manufacturability, repairability, and disassembly. These sets include new material applications, assembly techniques, or sequences that have not been previously tested or commercialized by Arc’teryx.

Responsibilities
  • Creating testing methodology, controls, and standards for Gore‑tex and waterproof breathable materials for finished‑goods technical sets for validation.
  • Conducting validations of combined materials, technologies, and construction methods for feasibility, durability, strength, manufacturability, repairability, and disassembly for the seasonal execution team.
  • Partnering with Raw Materials Development and Product Integrity to identify testing parameters for finished goods.
  • Building tools to conduct in‑house test capabilities to international test standards.
  • Interpreting and adapting test standards and analyzing all test results.
  • Studying new constructions for feasibility and influencing development by applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methodology—including establishing optimal manufacturing methods, creating templates, tooling, and fixtures and partnering with our in‑house machine shop.
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives and process redesign implementations as proof of concepts evolve.
  • Designing and executing experiments for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and partnering with Product Integrity to deep‑dive into opportunities to improve finished‑goods quality through process design.
  • Supporting sustainability, circularity, repairability, and disassembly through all aspects of Gore testing and validation.
  • Developing and implementing manufacturing processes to achieve production performance targets for new Gore constructions.
  • Collaborating with Product Developers in the design of standardized technical sets.
Future Opportunities
  • Drive innovation in the proof‑of‑concept space by collaborating with Gore‑tex head office and innovating testing technology and standards for finished goods.
  • Work with T1 partners in standardizing finished‑goods testing equipment and tools.
  • Collaborate with advanced concepts team to support future Gore innovations in sustainability and testing to end of life.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 7+ years’ experience as a manufacturing engineer, or raw materials engineer, focusing on technical apparel.
  • 5+ years of experience working in an apparel or outdoor equipment industry with sound knowledge of garment or equipment construction.
  • Experience collaborating in a highly cross‑functional role and leading teams through execution.
  • Mastery of continuous improvement and recognition for facilitating change.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work cross‑functionally with multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, flexibility, initiative, strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and handle difficult situations with tact and professionalism.
