Senior Electrical Engineer – G17
Location: Aberdeen - Hybrid/Remote working available
Rate: Negotiable hourly rate

Penspen are currently recruiting for an Onshore Ltd contract Senior Electrical Engineer - G17.
Role PurposeProvide senior-level technical leadership and delivery of electrical engineering work across all project phases, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient designs. Act as a discipline expert, support project teams, and mentor junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead production, review, and approval of electrical engineering deliverables (SLDs, load lists, protection studies, equipment specs, cable schedules).
- Ensure designs meet relevant electrical standards (IEC/IEEE/NEC) and client requirements.
- Serve as Electrical Discipline Lead on projects, coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
- Provide technical support during construction, testing, energisation, and commissioning.
- Review vendor information and manage technical queries.
- Contribute to hazard studies (HAZOP/HAZID/SIL) and ensure electrical safety compliance.
- Guide and mentor junior team members; support discipline improvements.
- Significant experience in electrical engineering within energy, oil & gas, or related sectors.
- Strong knowledge of LV/MV/HV systems, power distribution, protection, and electrical safety.
- Ability to lead electrical design independently and manage discipline scope.
- Proficiency with electrical analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Operates with autonomy and accountability.
- Demonstrates sound engineering judgement and risk awareness.
- Proactively supports team development and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborates effectively with stakeholders and influences technical decisions.
- Drives continuous improvement within the discipline.
